Here we aim to share some of the daily experiences of our school.
Rowan visit Science Centre
In June Rowan visited the Science Centre in Herstmonceux. The learnt a lot with their guide Kim Twinn.
Carnival 2010
In May we celebrated our wider world by holding a carnival week with food, dance and music at the heart of our lessons. We finished our week off with a procession through our village community.
YHA 2010
In May Year Three and Four went to Arundel YHA as part of their history studies in to castles. They visited Lewes castle, Arundel castle and Parham House. We had lovely weather and lots of fun.
Giraffes can't dance 2009
In October 2009 we had a visit from a theatre company. We had quite a laugh.
SNOW!!!!

Harvest Assembly 2009
In the first week of October 2009 we had our Harvest assembly.
We again supported The Salvation Army by asking for tinned food and Deo in Uganda, our sponsored child.
Pine do Apple Pressing
In October 2009 Pine Class had the chance to do apple juice making using a press as part of their Victorian Curriculum studies.
. It was hard work but we had some lovely apple juice to drink after!
Funky Footwear Day 2009
In September 2009 we supported the Sussex Flying Ambulance by wearing funky footwear for the day to raise money for the air ambulance. We had a great day and a shoe fashion show.
Larch go to Newhaven Fort 2009
In March 2009 Larch went to Newhaven Fort to continue their studies on WW2.
Pine go to the Science Museum, London 2009
In February 2009 Pine Class went to London Science Museum to find out more about electricity.
Rowan go to Brighton Toy Museum 2009
In February 2009 Rowan class went to Brighton on the train to visit the Toy museum.
They went by train and had lots of fun, even though they nearly missed the train!

Broad Oak Art Exhibition 2009
In February we held an art event at Broad Oak to showcase all our art that we produced during the residency of our artist Mark Hooley. We were very pleased with our results and we opend our doors to the community to come and view our work. Some of our work is now on show at Melina Joy optician in Heathfield.

The Snow Queen 2008
In December we had a visit from " The Snow Queen", a touring theatre company. We had lots of fun and laughs.
Safari Book Week 2008
In October 2008 we had our book week. We raised over £700 for books across the school. We based it around a Safari theme.
Rowan Visit Pizza Express in Lewes 2008
YUM YUM. We made pizza as part of our food topic.
Fun Factory Visit the Infants in September 2008
In September 2008 The Fun Factory came and did a show all about Pirates and the seaside. It was lots of fun and we learnt a lot!
Horam Tennis Club Visit Pine July 2008
In June 2008 Horam tennis club visited Broad Oak to give our Yr 3 and 4 pupils some extra tennis following their tennis sessions from P.E. They learnt lots of new skills and had lots of fun.
Federation Days 2008(Key Stage One)
In June 2008 Both Key Stages undertook their first School swap over as part of our School Federation. Here are some pictures of our day.
Year 6 Residential Visit 2008
In June 2008 Year 6 went to Bewl Water Residential Centre. They had lots of fun and did lots of fun activities.

One World Week
2008
In February 2008 our school celebrated diversity and cultural differences from around the world, with classes looking at different areas of the world. We celebrated all our work with a huge One World Market on the last day of the week where children, parents and members of our community could come and taste different foods and experience different traditions. Here are just a few memories of the events.
Pine go Ice Skating January 2008
In January 2008 Pine used some of their fundraising for a treat and new sporting activity. They went Ice Skating. It was very hard to start with but after an hour they were all skating without holding the sides. It was very funny to see Mr Agate on the Ice!
Pine visit The Natural History Museum 2008
In January 2008 Pine Class went to The Natural History Museum in London, fully funded by their class fundraising events since September. They went as part of their Curriculum topic on Volcanoes and the Caribbean. Here are some pictures of the class. More can be seen on their class site.
The Nutcracker December 2007
In December 2007 we had a performance of the Nutcracker by a touring theatre group. It was very good.
Some of the Year Four children even got parts in the play.
Christmas Dinner 2007
Here are some images from our Christmas Dinner. We all had a lovely time and had lots to eat.
History In Brass October 2007
In October 2007 we invited History in Brass to join us to look at different ways to find out about history. We were joined by children from Punnets Town for the morning. Here are some of our memories from the day.
Harvest Assembly 2007
On Thursday 11th October we celebrated our Harvest assembly. It was a great assembly and Ms Maslin read a story about a red hen. Larch and Sycamore read prayers. Everyone brought in something to share with the needy.
Push or Pull?
Rowan go to local park September 2007
In September 2007 Rowan visited Cade Street to do some experimental work about pushing and pulling in the local park. They worked and played very hard.
Year 2 and 3 go to London
In July 2007 Year 2 and 3 went to the Maritime Museum in London to find out about Lord Nelson as part of their curriculum projects.
Sycamore in the water
In July 2007 Sycamore went to the Seven Sisters and had fun in the water learning about rivers and streams.
Pilgrim Flower Festival

In May the whole school took part in the local flower festival set up by All Saints Church to celebrate the pilgrim fathers journey to America. We made flower boats.
Residential Visit

In April Year 3 and 4 went on their residential visit to Chichester and surrounding area.
They had lots of fun. Here are some of the pictures of their visit.
Larch go to London

In April 2007 Larch visited London as part of their passport to the world topic.
Teachers Visit Mauritius to teach

During Easter 2007 Mrs Di Fabio and Mr Agate were given the opportunity to visit Mauritius funded by The British Council and the Dfes. They visited 12 schools during the week and had the opportunity to teach and observe teaching in a different educational system. They had a great time and wish to share some of their images with you.
Grandparents Tea Party 2007
In February 2007 we invited in some of our grandparents to share their experiences with us and to find out what life was like when they were younger.

Autumn 2006
As part of our Healthy School initiative we had special visitors in to talk to us about healthy school dinners and what we could have for our dinners. We ate far too much! We invited our parents to have nibbles after school to see what dinner is like.

Autumn 2006
This Autumn we celebrated books and authors by holding a book week. We had lots of fun dressing up and many visitors came to make our experience more enjoyable.
We chose our favourite book and created book character hats for the day.

We have just completed our One World Week at Broad Oak. We had so much fun. We had a visit from a drum workshop and even a Salsa dancer. Here are some images of our week.

Native American Network Week
2006

During June 2006 we took part in a joint venture with Parkside, All Saints and Mayfield looking at the life and times of the Native American Indians.
Here are some of the highlights of the week.
During the week we had to create a totem pole, build a tepee and look at the work of various artists.
There are lots of fabulous displays in school. Why not have a look round next time you are in!
